Opening an NGFCU Youth membership account is a great way to help your child or teen learn about money management. Our furry Youth squirrel mascot, Stash McCa$h, has packaged a series of savings solutions to help your young adventures be successful along their financial journey. As a Joint Account holder, you will be able to be a part of their experience the entire way!

Youth Launch Savings

With the ability to deposit funds anytime, this interest bearing account is the launch pad for your child to get the hang of how money works. When you open a Youth Launch Savings Account, NGFCU will match up to the first $25 deposited!1

1 Minimum balance to open the account and to earn dividends is $5. The Credit Union will match up to $25 of the initial deposit, and matched funds are deposited into the new account. Offer applies only when the primary account holder is under 18 years of age. Matching funds deposited for account opening will be available the next business day with the exception of a $5 minimum balance which is required to keep the account open. No minimum time required for the account to remain open. Not available to anyone who has been an NGFCU member within the past 6 months. The additional matching funds deposited are considered a bonus for opening membership and will be reported as dividends on the account. Mention this offer when opening a Youth Launch Savings Account to receive a matching opening deposit up to the first $25. Offer subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Youth Boost 12-Month Certificate

This youth friendly 12-Month Certificate has a low minimum opening deposit requirement of only $250, the ability to make deposits of at least $25 anytime, and a rollover feature up to age 18.2 With this account your youth learn how to accelerate their earnings with the higher yield of a Certificate.

2 Fees may reduce earnings on the account. Minimum balance to open the account and to earn dividends is $250. Minimum deposit $25. Additional deposits allowed. Penalty for early withdrawal from certificate.

Youth Journey Checking

Available to members 13 years and older, this dividend earning checking account was custom designed specifically with our younger members in mind!3 There is no monthly service charge, and it includes an NGFCU Visa Debit card as well as access to online banking. This account is perfect to begin teaching your kids good spending habits while helping them utilize their math skills!

3 Minimum balance to open the account is $25 and minimum to earn dividends is $1. Minimum age to open a Youth Journey Checking is 13.

Youth Education Savings

The Coverdell Education Savings Account is perfect for someone who wants to set aside funds for their child’s education.4 This dividend earning account can help you save for qualified education expenses ranging from elementary school through vocational school or even college. Contributions of after-tax dollars can be made until the beneficiary’s 18th birthday and qualified withdrawals can be made with no federal taxes on the dividends earned.
